Starting a 12 Month Fast
Hey you guys! Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous... Okay, let's get to it.
I'm Ashley! I currently live in Chicago with my husband and our fur babies. We have some serious goals that we are working towards right now and it makes me so excited. I used to work at a store on Michigan Ave., but now I run an online business for a health and wellness company and I love what I do!
I know I'm not the only one who has been struggling to live healthy. Even though I eat relatively healthy, take my supplements, and exercise (but not as much as I should), it's a struggle! Things just aren't going the way I want them to.
I used to live a very healthy life - I worked out every day, ate all the healthy food, meditated, went to therapy, journaled, etc. Literally, whatever I could do to live my best life, I was doing it. I struggled after my grandpa died, but I made my depression the reason to better my life. Things changed when I got a job and became a store manager. My health took a backseat to work, stress, and school. I didn't have time to work out because I was always at work, I didn't have time to cook healthy food because I was never home, and all I did was sleep when I was home.
I know there are things I could eliminate or do less of to get where I want to be, but I haven't had any real motivation to do it. For a long time, I have been trying to get back to where I was - actually better! After struggling to lose weight, de-clutter our home, and improve my overall health for so long... this idea came to me when I couldn't sleep and I ran with it!
So, what is this 12 month fast? Each month, I will fast from one unhealthy thing. It might be a food, an action, or a thing... Whatever it may be, fasting from it will help me get to where I want to be mentally, emotionally, and physically. I won't be posting what all 12 things will be ahead of time, I want to really focus on each month and try to enjoy the experience! Not only will be I detoxing my mind and body, I will be able to make room for things that can help me better myself (physically, spiritually, and mentally).
