Last week began my 12 Months of More journey and the first thing under attack?
S W E E T S
Why sweets? Well, normally I don't eat too many sweets, but since we have been under a stay-at-home order all I wanted was some Ben & Jerry's ice cream and cupcakes! For a while, I was giving in to my cravings. I deserved it, right? I mean, we're in lockdown after all! But, I realized eating ice cream and cupcakes was not going to help me in the long run and was basically counteracting everything else I was doing to be healthy.
So, when looking into what to eliminate first, sweets was the easy target.
Over the last week, I had a few days where I could have gone for some of that chocolatey brownie goodness, but I refused (even though it was super hard sometimes). This next week, I will need to watch my Dr. Pepper intake because I did notice I had an extra one or two on a few days! I think it was my body's way of getting that sugar it had been treated to recently.
Whenever I did feel a pretty bad craving coming on, I would mix together my Super Reds for the day. They taste like a fruity drink and it definitely seemed to help subside the craving. Other times, I would just stare at a photo of an amazing dessert I've had in the past, like the Dark Chocolate Mousse dessert from Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom pictured above!
Overall, I would give it a 7/10 success rate. I just need to get my Dr. Pepper intake back under control!
