Week 3 of 52

I was super tempted this week, like… S U P E R tempted. Why? Because I saw one of my friends with the Nestle Tollhouse Funfetti Edible Cookie Dough. Let me tell you, Funfetti is one of my weakness. The urge to get some from the store was terrible! But, I held my resolve. I did not get the delicious treat as much as I wanted too.

I think that was the worst part during this entire month so far! I haven’t had a chance to try the Funfetti Cookie Dough yet, but I want to. So, the temptation was real.

I think this might be the easiest month, I don’t normally eat sweets. But, I picked sweets because I had been craving ice cream since lockdown started. The best way for me to break the habit was to cut it off at the pass… And I’ve been looking into healthier alternatives for when I do get a craving. For example, YumEarth has some great options. My favorites are the red licorice and sour twists. The products are all natural and vegan! I used to snack on them sometimes at work if I felt like I needed something a little sweet and they did the trick! So I definitely think I’ll be trying to stick to those instead of

things like ice cream, cake, cookies, etc.

My husband, on the other hand, gets tempted a lot more than I do. Whenever he sees a commercial, he definitely gets a craving for whatever sweet thing they are selling. He has a constant sweet tooth - he says he has self control, but I don’t think so. That man will eat all the sweets if you let him. But, unlike the rest of us, they don’t do anything to his waist line. That’s the kind of luck we all hope for!

But, it has been nice looking through some of the past yummy desserts we have enjoyed! Like this awesome one from a fabulous Belle Radici wine pairing dinner at Buck & Rider in Phoenix.

I mean, look how beautiful it is! What is it? A White Chocolate Mousse (which I normally don't like White chocolate, but I did enjoy this!) on a Black Pepper Sable cookie with Strawberry Compote and Strawberry Sorbet infused with Hill Family Estate Sparkling Rose. It even had gold flakes on the plate - it was gorgeous & delicious!

If you ever are in Phoenix, I definitely recommend checking out Buck & Rider. The entire menu is one of the best!

Anyway, back on topic, next month, we’ve decided to cut out fast food. Since we aren’t out and about as much nowadays, I think it will be a little easier. But, it will also force us to cook more than we do already. Which is healthier and less expensive! I definitely think it will be harder than sweets.
